Generally it softens water by changing the place of hard ions. The most famous water softener is Zeolite, that can exchange ions with hard minerals.
A water conditioner works on the principle of crystallization to convert hard water into soft water. It changes crystallization process of Magnesium and Calcium by which their corrosiveness gets reduced. When it comes to comparison we usually use a softener to get soft water rather than conditioner because water produced by conditioner is considered unfit for drinking.
You need to be attentive while buying a new water purifier for your home. Consider some factors like the initial cost, ease of installation, convenience and ongoing cost of operating the purifier. In some cases, the most inexpensive filters are the most expensive to operate for long term due to the expense and frequency of it’s component replacement.
One should try to take a purification system which can perform all the tasks and care must be taken so as to achieve the best results.
